This fund was created by employees of Bel Aire Senior Living to help the James' family as their father battles with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disesases.

Almost 2 years ago, Dave went to pick up his mail in the middle of winter and slipped on ice causing a severe head injury. Little did they know that from then on their life would be forever changed.

Soon after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disesase and Early Onset of Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 53. At first, he was able to continue his job as a 9th grade science teacher for a few months, but quickly it became apparent that his disease was progressing rapidly. Some time later his wife Sue had to make a difficult decision and decided to place him in our Alzheimer's Wing at Bel Aire Senior Living.

David has lived here since September 2014, but it put a tremendous financial burden on his family of 8.

They were hopeful to apply for a Medicaid program that would help to partially fund his montlhy expenses, but due to recent rule changes, they will have to wait for 6 more months. Sue already exhausted her family savings and with 7 people at home to feed and clothe, as well as the $4,000 per month she is paying for her husband’s care, she is left with no other choice, but to ask for help.

To make things even more difficult for this family Sue I was recently diagnosed with a meningioma (tumor) in
her right eye, and underwent daily radiation treatments for 6 weeks, which made it impossible for her to work. The radiation treatments went well, and it is hoped that her eyesight won’t be further affected by the tumor.

Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar is a step to making sure Dave can stay in a safe environment at Bel Aire Senior Living Alzheimer's care program. Please help us give this wonderful family some relief.

All donations will go to Dave's care so that he can remain here at Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork, UT and Sue can continue to raise & care for their family.
