Flowers all have different meaning based off of the color and the type of flower that they are. Sending flowers for a loved ones funeral is the best way to express the love and gratitude for that person. Below is the meaning of certain flowers and different meanings associated with the colors and arrangements.

Lilies- The Lily is the most common flower associated with funeral services. They represent the innocence that has been restored to the soul of the departed. It also symbolizes sympathy and majesty.

Gladiola- The gladiola represents strength of character, moral integrity and sincerity. These can be found in many different colors like pink, red, green, white, etc.

Carnations- The red carnation is admiration while a pink carnation stands for remembrance. White carnations stand for pure love and innocence.

Roses- White Roses show reverence, humility, innocence, and youthfulness. Red roses are for respect, love, and courage. Pink roses represent love, grace, gentility and appreciation. The Dark Crimson roses show grief and sorrow. When you have single rose in a bouquet it expresses enduring love for the deceased.

Orchid Plant- When you give an orchid to someone you are showing a gesture of sympathy. It says "I will always love you."

Hydrangea Plant- This flower is given as a gift of thanks in repayment for understanding and is given with a heartfelt sincerity.

Tulips- The tulip represents elegance and grace. Yellow tulips are for cheerfulness, white tulips are for forgiveness and purple tulips are for royalty. The red tulip stands for perfect love.
